So that ...

목적의 의미를 표현할 때 'so that'을 사용한다. 조동사 - can, would, will, etc. - 등과 흔히 사용한다:

• I'll go by car so that I can get to school earlier than usual.
• She left a message with her boyfriend so that he would know she'd called.

구어체 표현에서는 'so' 뒤에 나오는 'that'를 자주 생략한다:

• I've made some sandwiches so (that) we can have a snack on the way.

미래를 언급할 때, 'so that' 뒤에 나오는 시제는 현재단순 혹은 'wll'를 사용한다:

• I'll post the video on Youtube so that you (will) see it by the weekend.
